The official report of the 10th Conference of the Parties (COP10) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) was produced on 19 December 2010 and is online with the various decisions and other documents from the COP in Nagoya in late October.

Good range of UK perspectives on public dialogue in science/policy from the Sciencewise ERC in a magazine issue.

The UK Sciencewise Expert Resource Centre, a BIS unit addressing public dialogue, has produced an international comparison of public-science dialogue programmes in policy, with recommendations for development in the UK. The UK stands fourth out of eight countries, scored on a variety of metrics. /....

The UN General Assembly has agreed to the formation of the Intergovernmental Science-policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) - announced by UNEP. It is said that this will be similar to IPCC, but for biodversity rather than climate. Lot of rather interesting questions to be answered as to remit, approach and governance, but UNEP now moving to organise a first plenary.

Conference on "Museums, Researchers and Engagement: Working Together to Develop Our Skills" at University College London on 25 January 2010. Organised via the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement, which is responsible for public engagement initiatives and networking in English higher education. The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) funds a network of beacon institutions for excellence in this area.
