Strongly recommend having a look at the draft synthesis for the National Ecosystem Assessment, released yesterday, being led from WCMC for Defra..../ /...The emphasis is very much on ecosystem services, but takes a more detailed and developed approach than the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment for the national scale. As expected, key interest in Access and Benefit Sharing, with informal working groups looking at present at compliance, checkpoints and other issues. Just issued - the 2010 edition of the State of the UK's Birds from RSPB, BTO, WWT, CCW, JNCC, NE, NIEA and SNH. As with the earlier JNCC score cards, does not look good for farmland or woodland birds, with continuing declines.
